Layouts to share | Using Studio Calico Kits

I have been finding it hard to find the motivation to scrap lately but am actually enjoying not having any commitments and being able to scrap what I want, when the mood takes me! As I have been on leave from work, I have had extra time to create and have really been enjoying the creative process. I think some of my best work is done when I am relaxed and just enjoying time spent at my craft desk. I created these layouts in the last few days of last year...this first one is a straight out scraplift of a page by Melanie Louette. It uses the 'Copper Mountain' kit from Studio Calico...my very first subscription kit and the kit that I used for my 'Follow your Heart' layout that featured on the cover of Scrapbooking Memories magazine. I loved Melanie's page and it was a great way to jump-start my creativity...

The layout below of the newest, cutest member of our extended family is based on the Studio Calico Sunday sketch...

For this page I used the 'Office Hours' kit. I did add, from my stash, the Studio Calico alphas and the Heidi Swapp 'Favorite' wood veneer word...even though it kills me to see this misspelt (at least here in Australia), this was too lovely not to use on a page!

And my last (but not least) page for 2014 uses the latest kit 'Park Avenue' (where I must say I hope to visit one day)! I loved the colours in this kit and that building paper is just so gorgeous! Of course I had to fussy cut this and then layered lots of papers from the kit behind my photo. I added some personal journalling for Mikala on the tag and slipped it behind the photo for her eyes only.

Twenty Fifteen has started off well for me! I have been scrapping up a storm (not sure this will continue once I return to work though) and I have had a few submissions accepted for publication! :) It's always exciting to see your work in print! I hope you like what you have seen today.

Thanks for visiting!

Scrappy Canary | January 2015 Sketch Challenge

One of my goals for 2015 is to participate in more challenges! I think challenges are a great way to grow your creativity and sometimes I just find them easier as I have a sketch or set of criteria to get me started. This fabulous sketch from Scrappy Canary caught my eye straight away...

I have already scrapped this photo from my niece's wedding using a larger photo...(this one was printed first but I changed my mind on the size) but decided not to let it go to waste! And I loved using the photo with this awesome background paper by Webster's Pages! I pretty much stuck to the sketch design and have used products from a past Scrappy Canary kit.

I love these Pinkfresh Studio striped alphas and machine stitched them into place! The word stickers are from Chic Tags...aren't they just divine!

These papers are from Chic Tags Cloud 9...just so pretty I think! And the wood veneer frame was perfect to layer over my photo...

Thank you for stopping by my blog today, I hope you have enjoyed a peek at my January Scrappy Canary challenge entry :)

Best wishes,
