Scrapbooking Memories Masters Issue

Hi there

Just stopping by to share the cover of the Masters issue of Scrapbooking Memories which went on sale today.
I'm so excited that I got the cover and can't wait to see the magazines for sale on the shelf.
I think there will be a few photos taken!

Some retreat layouts to share

Hello again

I have been a terrible blogger lately...
mainly due to a lack of time and a lot of stressful changes at work that are messing with my mojo!
Last month I met up with my favourite scrappy friends at Opal Cove for our annual retreat.
There was a lot of much needed laughs and time to just create without the worry of everything else that's been going on.

My favourite new product is the Heidi Swapp texture paste. I only got the one colour (gold) but it is so fabulous that I really think I need more!
I used it here with gorgeous Dear Lizzy Documentary products. Honestly, I love this collection...
the transparencies, gold alpha and wooden buttons are to die for.

This page of my first Camp Mojo retreat uses a mix of Pinkfresh Studio and Dear Lizzy products with pretty gold alphas from Maggie Holmes.

I used the Studio Calico Wink, Wink kit here with those Maggie alphas (I should have purchased two packs as they are such a great font).

Using Wink, Wink kit again for a scraplift of a design I saw on Studio Calico.

I used the Crate Paper Journey here.
This one wasn't working for me but you get that sometimes!

And lastly some Simple Stories to use with these fun beach photos of my cute little great nephew.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my layouts.

New layouts to share

Hello there
It's been such a long time since I have shared so here I am with an extra long post of my recent pages. I attended Camp Mojo in August and took along a few of my Studio Calico scrapbook kits that have been sitting there unused along with some of my favourite new collections I picked up at ScrapBoutique.

Studio Calico Fairground kit.

Studio Calico Carolina Moon kit.

Simple Stories I am collection with gelatos.

Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss collection.

Another from Studio Calico Fairground kit.

Cocoa Vanilla Hello Lovely collection.

Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy collection.

Studio Calico Pop Art kit.

This is a scrap lift of a Kelly Noel layout using Studio Calico Pop Art kit.

And lastly this page using some October Afternoon goodies that were gifted to attendees.

Last month I attended a get together with a few local girls and these pages are the result of the fun day/night we had. I took along a few of my older A Piece of Cake Designs kits and photos that I had previously printed but didn't end up using on layouts.
It was so good to finally make a dent in my stash of APOCD kits!

And finally for today this layout of my sister and I using the Studio Calico kit Far, Far Away. This one uses a Kelly Purkey sketch from the Sketchbook class at Studio Calico.

Well I hope you have enjoyed seeing my latest layouts! Thanks for stopping by and your comments are always welcome.

Feeling Sketchy #123

Hi there,
How fun is the latest sketch from Feeling Sketchy?

I decided to unwind yesterday from a difficult semester at work with a little play time at my craft desk!
And this is my card for the sketch using Studio Calico paper and some fun die cuts given to me by my lovely friend DebiJ.
I wanted to decorate the envelope as well for this one so just used the scrap of pretty paper left over from my 6x6 sheet and added a few embellies!

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by my blog today :)

Feeling Sketchy | #122

Hi there

It's been so long since I have joined in a challenge and when I saw this one for Feeling Sketchy I thought it would be perfect for these Silhouette cuts that I had left from other projects!

I embossed the frame in white zing powder and attached it with some tiny gold staples from American Crafts. The scribbly paper, wood veneer, label and circle printables are from Studio Calico and I finished the card off with a pretty Prima flower.

It was such a quick and easy card to make and I love the message (a Donna Downey cut from the Silhouette store).

Thanks for looking!

Long overdue blog post

Hey there,

It's another long break between blog posts for me. I seem to be more of a product collector than a scrapbooker these days!

But I do have a few pages and cards to share today that I have created over the last month or so. First up is this page of my nephew Hunter using the Bluegrass Farm kit from Studio Calico. Isn't he just the cutest little boy? I love these kits and was super excited to win a six month subscription to the scrapbook kit recently...thanks to Scrapbooking Memories magazine and Studio Calico :)

One of my recent purchases was some of the Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss collection. I loved the fresh colours and tropical embellishments in the ephemera pack and decided to scrap these photos from our trip to Bali in 2012.

This page of Mikala and a friend was created using up the last papers from the Studio Calico eBook kit that I shared in a previous post.

And a few cards I created... a shaker card, my first I believe! It won't be the last as these are so fun to make!

This was a lift of a card I saw in the Studio Calico gallery.

And this one uses a left over strip of Citrus Bliss paper. I have been using my envelope punch board lately so will have to make one to suit this size.

Thanks for stopping by!

Some creations to share

Hello there, It's been a while since I have posted!

I have had a really busy start to the year at work and that seems to be taking all of my energy and mojo. I cannot seem to find much enthusiasm for creating! Anyway, this afternoon I decided to photograph my creations from the last few months...

I created this layout with a submission theme in mind! I started with a colourful background using gelatos and some added some stamping in coordinating colours. I raided my stash of old Sassafras diecut flowers and layered them over the top using pop dots to raise them up here and there. I then matted my cardstock on pattern paper from the range. I wasn't really happy with this page so I made another with the remaining diecuts and that page will be seen in Scrapbooking Memories soon :)

Last month I joined in Wilna Furstenburg's Color Theory class held over at Studio Calico! I love Wilna's style and even though I have only completed one of the lessons far I look forward to completing some more when I can. This is my layout...very colourful hey!
I started with applying the paint (mixed with a gel medium) really thickly to watercolour paper with a brush. I hand stamped the flower images, painted the centres to coordinate and attached with pop dots to add dimension.

And this card was made from a practice sheet. The technique was to apply acrylic paint straight from the tube. I then used a roller stamp through the wet paint and attached it to some green cardstock. I added some vellum labels, banners, chipboard pieces, enamel dots and star sequins for a quick and easy card.

I hope you had a lovely Easter!
I enjoyed some time with my family over the long weekend and also a little relaxing time spent at my craft desk. I had a clean up of my space and found the Jubilee kit that I had purchased with an e-book at Studio Calico quite a while ago. Because my mojo is low I decided to follow the projects in the book using the kit. I have gotten quite a few cards and layouts out of the kit so far...

These are the cards I made using some of my favourite stamps from the kit...

These circles were embossed and punched out before sewing to the card front.

And here I water coloured the wood veneer circle!

I completed three 8.5x11 pages...

It was fun trying the styles of some of my favourite designers and using the designs from the e-book made for some pretty quick layouts!

I liked using these Christmas photos with non Christmas papers.

I also finished a couple of 12x12 pages...

This page uses some of the included printable and Silhouette cuts!

A few more embossed circles here...I think they make a fun embellishment!
Do you ever re-scrap the same photo? I printed this one out twice in error so just decided to use it on this page anyway, lol.

Thanks for making it this far :)

Layouts to share | Using paint and misted backgrounds

Things have been quiet on the scrapping front since my return to work so I don't have a lot to share at the moment but I did have a little play with paints and mist a few weeks ago and will share those layouts with you now.

I have used some of my favourite goodies from the Dear Lizzy Serendipity and Amy Tangerine Stitched collections!

I love working on white card stock and matting it on pattern paper at the moment! I am enjoying creating colour with art mediums and using minimal pattern paper (which isn't good for using up for that stash of paper that I have).

I started this page by scraping on acrylic paint with an old store card onto the white card stock and then layering up lots of die cuts from the ephemera pack. I embellished further using puffy stickers and enamel dots from the collection.

I loved this quote by Marilyn Monroe, so included it for my daughter...

I love wood grain papers and this one from Dear Lizzy is a favourite! I mixed it with some papers, ephemera and stickers from Amy Tangerines's Stitched collection.

I misted the heart stencil with Heidi Swapp colour shine in mint green!

I added lots of the puffy stickers from the collection along with Dear Lizzy enamel dots and a few scattered Studio Calico gold stars...

Thanks for visiting and Happy Valentines Day!
