Scrap Boutique Postcards Competition - Week 6

Well we have come to the end of our travels over at Scrapboutique and what an awesome time I have had. Our last destination was Greenland...an unexpected location but the postcard was very inspiring. I have scrapped an old wedding day photo of me with three of my gorgeous nieces. It's such a sweet photo with them all looking at me...an all time favourite of mine. I have used Basic Grey Wisteria paper along with some textured cardstock and flocked snowflake vellum. To embellish I have used some organza ribbon, a Prima flutter vine and a few Prima roses to add some colour (which represents the colourful village in the postcard).

Thanks for stopping by...I hope you have enjoyed my Postcard layouts xx

Scrap Boutique Postcards Competition - Week 5

This week we were visiting Japan at the Scrap Boutique postcards competition. I loved the autumn colours and images in this postcard. I have used 7 Gypsies paper along with a Prima felt stem and lanterns. A requirement of the challenge was to include a paper folding technique. I have made a pleated fan, accordion circle flower and added a pleated paper strip. I have tried to keep it all pretty simple to suit the minimalistic Japanese style. Some butterflies with touches of gold and a Japanese Proverb were added as well. Sorry the photo is a bit crooked...I really need to learn how to stitch LO's together so I can scan them instead of photographing them.

This is my entry for the monthly sketch challenge at Anna's Craft Cupboard. I loved this design and thought these photos of Mikala suited it well. I have used some older Kaiser papers from my stash and added some red Thickers and a crackle painted bird for a bit of extra interest. I am happy with the way this one turned out considering it was created by candlelight when the power was off...I took the chance to scrap when the opportunity presented itself.

Thanks for stopping by and I would love for you to leave a comment xx

Scrap Boutique Postcards Competition - Week 4

We were off to India this week over at the Scrap Boutique Postcard challenge . I was inspired by the intricately painted hands, the gorgeous bright colours and gold and gemstone jewelery. I love these photos of Mikala all dressed up for a multicultural day at school in 2006 and thought they were perfect for this challenge.

I have stamped the photo mat and inked with gold ink as well as adding some bling and jewels to represent the beautiful jewelery. I also twisted a gold ribbon (saved from a cake I was given... I never throw anything out anymore, just in case I can use it on a layout. lol) to represent the beautiful sari's.

There are some amazing layouts in the competition gallery. You should stop by and check out the gorgeous pages.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend xx

Scrap Boutique Postcards Competition - Week 3 and another scrappy share

This weeks postcard was from New York, USA. For my take on the challenge I have glimmermisted a Tim Holtz mask to create the background and added some older Basic Grey papers. I was inspired by the red, white and blue colours in the postcard and have added yellow to represent the taxis, some stars, stripes and a cute little NY number plate I had in my stash. The photos were taken early one morning by Gavin when he was visiting the States in 2005.

I completed this layout from the April sketch over at Scrapbooking from Scratch using a Scribble Scrabble kit. I loved this kit...the papers and embellishments are gorgeous. I especially love the Prima chipboard letters and can see myself using these a lot. The photo is of my Aunty Elsie and was taken in 1948 when she was about 15 years old. I just love the boats and river in the background.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy Mother's Day tomorrow xx

Layouts to share - Scrap Boutique Week 2 Postcard

I completed this layout for the Sunday roast at Scrap Boutique. I didn't get a chance to upload it by the required time so thought I would share it here. The design is by Amanda and was supposed to be about a hero or villain but I decided to change it a bit to suit the photo of my friend Kim and her husband Chris who married in March.

This page is of my fashion loving daughter Mikala using Crate Paper Lillian papers. She loves to dress up and have 'photo shoots'. I'm loving all the pretty photos I get to take of her.

This is my entry for this weeks Postcards challenge over at Scrap Boutique. The challenge this week was to be inspired by the postcard of Provence, France. I have used Prima papers and flowers along with my new Tim Holtz birdcage die, which I just love. I can see myself getting lots of use out of this one.

Hope you have had a lovely weekend and had a chance to enjoy the beautiful autumn days. I love this time of year.
